The Mimosa House wants every guest to be able to find a house, read the menu and plan a party, however they use the web.

Our commitment

We are working to make mimosahouse.com meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. We test the site with automated accessibility tools and by hand with a keyboard, and we fix what we find.

What we have done

  • Descriptive text on images, and labels on every form field.
  • A "Skip to main content" link and clear focus outlines for keyboard users.
  • A pause button on video, and no autoplaying motion for guests who turn on reduced motion.
  • Full menus on the site as text, not only as PDFs.
  • Pages that zoom and reflow on phones, tablets and desktops.

Where we are still working

  • Our downloadable menu PDFs may not read well with every screen reader. The same menus are on our menu page as text.
  • Some links go to partners and ticketing sites that we do not control.
