The Mimosa House presents · Día de los Muertos
A night to remember, and to remember them.

Every year, families across Mexico set a place at the table for the people they love who are no longer here. They light candles, lay out marigolds, cook their favorite foods and tell their stories out loud, so no one is ever really gone.
On November 1 we're opening our doors for an evening in that same spirit. Warm adobe walls and candlelight, music in the corner, a cocktail in your hand, and trays of the food so many of us grew up on, passed around all night long.
Three hours, three cocktails, thirteen bites, and one long table of memories.
La Ofrenda
Bring a photo of someone you love.
We'll build a community ofrenda in the center of the room, with marigolds, candles and space for every guest's photo. Bring a printed picture of someone you miss, a grandparent, a friend, a pet who was family. Add it to the altar when you arrive.
At 7:30 we'll dim the lights, light the candles together and raise a glass to all of them. Your photo goes home with you at the end of the night.
La Noche
This is a standing, mingling kind of night. No assigned seats, no courses to wait on. Food comes to you on trays, drinks come in your hand, and the room does the rest.
6:30
Doors open. A bagged agua fresca and a bag of tostilocos in your hand before you're through the door. Add your photo to the ofrenda.
7:30
The lights go low and we light the ofrenda together. A toast to everyone we're remembering, with tamales passed right after.
8:15
Street tacos, live music and calavera face painting for anyone who wants it. Find the photo wall.
8:45
Churros, chocolate and a café de olla carajillo to close the night. A little concha to take home on your way out.

Preguntas
No. It's a standing, mingling evening with food passed on trays all night, about thirteen bites per person. There's some seating around the room, but no assigned tables. Come hungry.
Yes. Please bring a valid ID. We'll check it at the door and give you a wristband.
Three cocktails (or spiked aguas), plain aguas frescas all night, all the passed bites, the ofrenda, music, face painting and a concha to take home. A 20% gratuity for our team is built into every ticket ($90 total), and sales tax is added at checkout. Additional drinks are available at the bar.
Whatever makes you feel good. Black, cream and marigold fit the room beautifully. Día de los Muertos is a celebration of family and memory, not Halloween, so we ask that outfits be respectful of the tradition. Our face painter will be there if you'd like a calavera.
Any printed photo of someone you love who has passed: family, a friend, a pet. A small frame is welcome too. Your photo goes home with you at the end of the night.
The menu includes peanuts, dairy and wheat, and several bites are vegetarian. Let us know about any allergies when you buy your ticket and we'll do our best to take care of you.
Tickets are non-refundable, but they're transferable. If you can't make it, send it to a friend through Eventbrite up to 24 hours before the event.
